Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the breakfast sausage. Cook for 5-7 minutes until fully browned.
  2. Sprinkle in the all-purpose flour, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes until well combined.
  3. Gradually whisk in 2 cups of whole milk and cook for about 3-5 minutes until the gravy thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir well.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer half of the refrigerated biscuits at the bottom.
  6. Pour the prepared sausage gravy evenly over the layer of biscuits.
  7. Top with the remaining biscuits, placing them strategically for a second layer.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly. Allow to cool before serving.
