Ingredients

For the Pears
  • 4 pieces Ripe Pears (Bosc or Anjou) Choose ripe but firm varieties for the best flavor and texture.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil Lightly coat the pears to promote caramelization.
For the Filling
  • 6 ounces Blue Cheese Can substitute with goat cheese for a milder taste.
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts or Pecans Use raw or toasted nuts for crunch.
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Thyme Can be swapped for fresh rosemary.
For the Finish
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Drizzle for added sweetness.
  • 1 pinch Black Pepper A sprinkle balances the richness.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking dish
  • Parchment Paper
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Sharp knife
  • Spoon or melon baller

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or grease it with olive oil.
  2. Halve the pears lengthwise and scoop out the cores with a spoon or melon baller, leaving enough fruit at the bottom.
  3. Brush the cut sides of the pears with olive oil and place them cut-side up in the baking dish.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine blue cheese, walnuts or pecans, and thyme until well mixed.
  5. Stuff each pear half generously with the filling, mounding it slightly above the edges.
  6. Bake the pears for 15 to 18 minutes, until tender, and the cheese is bubbling.
  7. Remove from the oven and drizzle with honey, then sprinkle with black pepper before serving.
