Instructions
  1. Generously season the beef chuck roast with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Layer the sliced onion evenly across the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Carefully place the seasoned chuck roast on top of the onions.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the beef broth, brown gravy mix, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Pour the gravy mixture evenly over the roast.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
  7. Remove the beef and optionally thicken the gravy with a cornstarch slurry.
  8. Shred the beef and return it to the gravy in the slow cooker.
  9. Serve over prepared mashed potatoes.
