Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  2. Gently separate the Hawaiian sweet rolls and dip each one into the custard mixture for about 15-20 seconds on each side.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter. Place the soaked Hawaiian rolls in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. Remove the cooked French toast and repeat the process with remaining soaked rolls, keeping the cooked ones warm in a low oven.
  5. Serve immediately, drizzling with maple syrup, dusting with powdered sugar, and adding optional toppings as desired.
