Step-by-Step Instructions for McGriddle Bites
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together one cup of pancake mix, three-quarters of a cup of milk, and one egg until the mixture is smooth and lump-free. Allow the batter to rest for 5 minutes.
  2. Gently fold in one cup of crumbled cooked sausage and two tablespoons of maple syrup into the batter. Mix until just combined; add cheese if desired.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes until hot. Optionally grease with butter or cooking spray.
  4. Pour small amounts of batter, about 2 tablespoons each, onto the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface.
  5. Carefully flip each McGriddle Bite and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
